Irresistible Mitchell Santner leads New Zealand to historic victory in India | Cricket
India slumped to a humiliating series defeat at home, their first in 12 years, as New Zealand defeated them by 113 runs in Pune to take an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Mitchell Santner took six for 104 to finish with 13 wickets in the match, setting up a historic victory that was sealed when his senior spin partner Ajaz Patel claimed the last two Indian wickets.
It was a stunning defeat for India, who were bowled out by eight wickets in sea-arm-friendly conditions in their opening match in Bengaluru and have now suffered their first series loss on home soil since the defeat to England in 2012.
