West Allegheny 13, Montour 7 OT
Roman Police's 8-yard touchdown run in overtime sent the WPIAL Class 4A postseason bracket into a tailspin as West Allegheny knocked off undefeated Montour on the road Friday night. Police's overtime score capped off a solid game for the senior, in which he rushed 13 times for 71 yards. Fellow senior running back Brock Cornell reached the end zone and also rushed 31 times for 140 yards.
Aliquippa 29, Ambridge 0
Marques Council Jr. scored a total of three touchdowns as the Quips got back in the win column against Ambridge. Council went 6-for-15 for 155 yards and connected with James Gilbert Jr. for the first score of the match. He would later find Arison Walker for a 39-yard touchdown before running in from 15 yards out. Sophomore running back SaNir Brooks rushed nine times for 116 yards in the win.
North Hills 10, Central Valley 7
Central Valley dropped its final regular season game of the season, falling to North Hills in a non-conference battle. It was a defensive stalemate all game, but a 23-yard Jack Scarsella field goal for North Hills in the first quarter made the difference. Mason Dixon rushed for 50 yards nine times and scored the team's only touchdown.
New Castle 50, Blackhawk 14
Blackhawk dropped its final game of the regular season, falling to New Castle in a Parkway Conference game. Kaevon Gardner rushed eight times for 188 yards and finished the night with three touchdown scores. Quarterback Kyrell Harris also had a successful 10-for-14 night passing for 132 yards and two scores. Blackhawk senior quarterback Stephen Knallay went 13-for-25 passing for 102 yards and a touchdown while throwing two interceptions.
Southside 14, Rochester 12
South Side and Rochester traded blows throughout the first half of Friday night, with South Side taking on the Rams. South Side used a balanced rushing attack as the team rushed 185 yards on the ground as Amare Moman and Dawson Frasier reached the end zone. Antonio Laure led Rochester's offensive attack and scored the team's two touchdowns, rushing 24 times for 144 yards.
Mohawk 23, Riverside 12
Riverside fell to Mohawk in Midwestern Conference play. Robbie Janis rushed for one of the Panther's scores as the senior running back finished with 107 yards on the ground. Freshman quarterback Aidan Gaydosz passed for the team's other score when he found Zach Hare on a 37-yard connection.
Western Bever 42, Freedom Area 10
Western Beaver used a 28-point second quarter to roll past Freedom Area. Sophomore quarterback Jaivin Peel went 11-for-18 and threw for three touchdown scores. For the second week in a row, Chris Kirkland hauled in multiple touchdown passes, finishing with three receptions for 95 yards and two scores. Freedom Area senior running back Carter Osadciw rushed 11 times for 44 yards and the Bulldogs' lone touchdown.
North Catholic 55, Hopewell 43
As the Vikings fell to North Catholic in their regular season finale, James Armstrong put on a show with his arm and his legs. The freshman left-hander went 13-for-28 through the air and passed for 240 yards and a touchdown while throwing one interception. He would also find success with his legs rushing for 240 yards and five touchdowns in the loss to the Trojans. Brody Rock hauled in eight of Armstrong's 13 completions for 148 yards.
OLSH 20, Keystone Oak 19
Despite trailing by 13 points early in the second half, OLSH eliminated Keystone Oaks to improve the Chargers' playoff resume in non-conference play. Quarterback Vann Kavlas went 15-for-27 passing for 212 yards while rushing 14 times for 83 yards. The senior scored two total touchdowns in the win. Demar Chatfield scored game-winning Charger points when he rushed for a 15-yard score in the fourth quarter.
