Datsyuk officially becomes a member of the Hall of Fame; UM rises to number 5 in the rankings
Pavel Datsyuk is now an official member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Datsyuk, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Detroit Red Wings in 2002 and 2008, joined Shea Weber, Jeremy Roenick, Natalie Darwitz and Krissy Wendell as the 2024 inductees in the players category at the HHOF in Toronto on Monday night.
David Poile and former Red Wings defenseman and assistant coach Colin Campbell participated as builders.
It is a tremendous honor to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Datsyuk said during his introductory speech. 'An honor I couldn't even dream of.
Datsyuk, 46, recorded 918 points in 953 regular-season games and 113 points in 157 playoff games.
The Russian center was also a four-time winner of the Lady Byng Trophy as the NHL's Most Friendly Player and captured the Selke Trophy three times as the league's best defensive forward.
Datsyuk played five seasons in the KHL after leaving Detroit in 2016. He has represented his country at five consecutive Olympic Games, capturing gold in 2018 and bronze in 2002.
Campbell's hockey life included time as a player (three years in Detroit from 1982-85), an assistant coach (five years with the Red Wings from 1985-90) and, for the past 25 years, a senior executive vice president in the NHL.
He helped lead the league's centralized video ratings hub, which is now the standard across much of the North American sports world.
The 71-year-old also won the Stanley Cup in 1994 as an associate coach with the New York Rangers.
“I've talked to general managers, the board of directors, over the years,” Campbell said. This is a first, and when I look out and see this group, it's certainly inspiring and scary.

Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
