Men's tennis releases 2025 schedule
THE HILL |The men's tennis head coach at Alabama A&M University Willis Begin announced its 2025 spring campaign, featuring three opponents from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and three Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN).
The Bulldogs went 6-12 overall and 5-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) last season and hosted the 2024 Fall SWAC Championship, where sophomores Kai Koecher advance to the championship round.
“We are excited about the spring season and hope to build on the momentum from the fall and ultimately compete at the highest level and make the Bulldog nation proud,” Mbandi said.
Alabama A&M will open its spring campaign at Vanderbilt on Jan. 17 before hosting Samford on Jan. 19. The Bulldogs will head to Georgia Southern on Jan. 25 to wrap up their first month of action.
Opening the second month of play, the Bulldogs host Jacksonville State on Feb. 1 before traveling 150 miles southwest to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide the next day. After a short break, AAMU takes on a few ASUN enemies. They play Lipscomb at home on Feb. 16 and travel to Austin Peay on Feb. 22. The Bulldogs end the month hosting Troy University on Feb. 28.
Conference play begins in March for the men's tennis team when they take on Southern University in a neutral site match on March 7. AAMU returns to its home state for five straight games, first facing North Alabama on March 12 before taking on SWAC rival Alabama State in March. 16. On March 22, AAMU travels to take on Auburn University in Auburn before a pair of neutral site conference games against Prairie View A&M and Alcorn on March 29 and 30 in Montgomery.
In the final month of regular season action, Alabama A&M will play a pair of road games, first against Jackson State on April 5 and then against Western Kentucky on April 10. April 11 will serve as the final home game as the Bulldogs host UT. South to the Alabama A&M tennis courts. AAMU travels to Tuskegee on April 12 for its final regular season game. The SWAC Championships will be held April 18-20 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
