RICHMOND, Va. The University of Richmond women's tennis team has unveiled its 2025 spring schedule, featuring 11 home matches at the Westhampton Tennis Complex and a pair of matches out west against Northern Arizona and UNLV.

“I am very happy with how the schedule has developed,” said the head coach Jacob Dunbar. “We have some really good non-conference games in the first half of our season, which will help prepare us for the second leg, which leads almost all conference opponents to our Atlantic 10 Conference tournament. Conference games will always be crucial and we're fortunate to be able to play them all at home this year.”

Richmond opens its spring campaign on Jan. 17 with a road trip to Old Dominion. The team returns home on Jan. 26 to host Navy in their home opener before hitting the road again in February for games against Towson (Feb. 2) and Virginia Tech (Feb. 16). The Spiders close out February with a game in Campbell on February 28.

In March, Richmond's schedule will expand to include a mix of non-conference and A-10 action. The Spiders visit East Carolina on March 1 and then head west for games against Northern Arizona (March 11) and UNLV (March 13). After spring break, Richmond travels to Liberty (March 16) before hosting Fordham (March 21) and defending A-10 champion UMass on March 22 to begin a crucial stretch of home games.
The Spiders continue their A-10 schedule with home games against George Mason (March 28), Duquesne (March 29) and non-conference opponent Georgetown (March 30).

April will be highlighted by games at William & Mary on April 5 and a home game against Delaware (April 6) and VCU (April 10). After a road game at Hampton on April 12, Richmond closes the regular season at home against Davidson (April 13), St. Joseph's (April 18) and George Washington (April 19). The Atlantic 10 Championship will take place April 24-27 in Orlando, Florida at the USTA National Campus.

Dunbar welcomes back Lara Bachaya, Andrea Campodonico, Claire Le Du, Elizabeth Novak, Lainey O'Neil And Lucy Webber added to the roster for the spring season, in addition to welcoming freshmen Sofia Barbulescu, Abby Lee And Amy Walsh. In the fall season, Barbulescu posted a 9–5 singles record, including capturing the Conference Masters Qualifying title. The freshman earned back-to-back victories over South Dakota and San Diego in the Conference Masters Tournament before falling to Oklahoma State in the quarterfinals. The Spiders also enter the new year with two doubles teams in the top 120 of the ITA rankings, No. 105 Novak/Barbulescu and No. 116 Webber/O'Neil.

“Every year brings new energy, new players and new enthusiasm,” Dunbar said. “The team has done a great job finding its rhythm early this fall. As we look ahead to spring, everyone is aligned on our goals. It will take a collective effort, and the team is not only aware of that, but is prepared to This is evident in our performance in doubles, where having two ranked pairs to end the fall is a significant achievement for our program. Lizzie, Sofia, Lainey, and Lucy did an excellent job this fall, and we are proud of their contributions. Their performance reflects the team's progress. It shows that we are on the right track. The season is still young and we will face challenges along the way, but I am optimistic about what this team can achieve, starting with our first game in January.”
