Sports competitions of the Fifth National Sports Festival took place yesterday in relevant stadiums and gymnasiums in Nay Pyi Taw.
Officials awarded the winners in the men's and women's chain shot put, high jump, 400 meters x 4 relay and 200 meters racing events at the inter-ministry level.
The men's and women's group matches of the Inter-Ministry Open Volleyball Tournaments were held on the volleyball court of the Wunna Theikdi Stadium.
The knockout matches of the first round of the Inter-Ministry of Men's Indoor Football and the group matches of the Sepak Takraw men's regu event were held at the same venue.
In interstate and regional level sports, the men's and women's first leg matches of traditional Chinlone sports, and semi-finals of snooker 6 Red singles, snooker 15 Red singles, quarter-final matches of billiards singles, semi-finals of 9 Ball Pool singles, snooker 6 Red double and 9 Ball Pool double were held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium (C).
At MICC 2, officials presented prizes to winners in men's and women's bodybuilding and fitness, and table tennis sports at interstate and regional levels.
Semifinal matches of the Inter-State and Region U-25 women's soccer tournament took place at Bawgawady Stadium and Lewe Stadium.
The quarter-finals of the Interstate and Regional Tennis Tournament were held on the central tennis court.
In addition, an inter-state and regional weightlifting competition was held at the weightlifting track at Wunna Theikdi Stadium.
These sports competitions were attended by Union level dignitaries, deputy ministers, regional and state ministers, department officials, officials of relevant sports federations, staff, students and sports fans. MNA/TTA
