The No. 8 ranked Colorado College Tigers close out the 2024 calendar year with an exhibition game against UNLV on Sunday, December 29 at Ed Robson Arena. TyGallagher opened the scoring at 9:49 of the first period. Kaidan Mbereko showed why he is one of the best netminders in the country later in the period when he made a spectacular save on Rieger Lorenz, stopping a 2-on-1 rush to preserve the one-goal lead. The coaches
Kris Mayotte is in his fourth season at the helm of the Tigers. He came to Colorado College after serving two years as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan, and was an assistant coach for Providence College when the Friars won the 2015 NCAA Division I title. Mayotte is the reigning NCHC Coach of the Year Anthony Vignieri -Greener is in his 10th season as head coach at UNLV. He has led his alma mater to an ACHA D1 Final Four appearance in 2022 and last year's national championship game.

Junior Kaidan Mbereko was named National Co-Goaltender of the Month for November after leading the NCHC in wins during the month. Mbereko posted a 5-2-1 record in CC's eight games, allowing just fourteen goals. He ranked fourth in the NCHC in goals-against average (1.71) and save percentage (.941). Mbereko had a season-high 41 saves against Arizona State on November 9 and defeated St. Cloud State on November 23.

Mbereko and Laba named to the preseason All-NCHC team

Juniors Noah Laba And Kaidan Mbereko were named to the 2024-25 National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Preseason All-Conference Team. Thirty (30) ballots were submitted by local media members from each school, as well as select national media. Laba was one of two players, along with Denver defenseman Zeev Buium, named on all 30 ballots. Senior forward Jack Devine of Denver followed with 26 votes, while sophomore defenseman Jake Livanavage of North Dakota collected 25 votes. Mbereko received 22 votes as the team's goalkeeper.

Twelve newcomers are joining the Tiger hockey program for the 2024-2025 season. The class consists of eight incoming freshmen and four transfers.
