With thousands of people turning up for the fourth Test between India and Australia despite tough conditions over the four days, this Test has registered a record for the most attended Test. Boxing Day test in history.

The record attendance at the MCG is 350,534 in the 1936–37 Ashes series, but this was played over six days. As things stand now, Day 5 needs 51,205 to break that number.

On the first two days, the fourth Test saw an attendance of 87,242 and 85,147 fans respectively.
Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said India fans had come to the MCG from all over the world.
“I think what's special about this series is the number of India fans, not just from India, but from around the world,” Hockley said.
“I've met fans from the UK, Canada and the US.
“It's obviously a fantastic time of year, but it goes without saying that the MCG has almost taken on a spiritual place in cricket folklore.”
Australia, who struggled with their chase on Day 4, will enter Day 5 with a solid lead of 333 points at their disposal. They will be keen to take the lead in the BGT with the fifth and final Test to be played in Sydney from January 3.
