Lane Kiffin retires from College Football Playoff committee after Gator Bowl win over Duke
Since the final College Football Playoff ranking appeared last month, Avenue Kiffin has not hidden his displeasure about this Ole ma'am absence. Next Thursdays Gator bowl vanquish Dukehe still had one message left for the selection committee.
Kiffin parted ways with the committee when Ole Miss completed its 52-20 win over Duke, saying the inaction fueled the Rebels. He saw a team trying to send a message, and he thought the Rebels were doing just that.

I'm happy with the way our guys played today, Kiffin told ESPNs Taylor McGregor. The quarterback played very well, and so did the defense. They made a statement to a committee that disregarded them: Hey, here's an ACC team that won nine games and played extremely well. I think it was very important that they came out and made a statement like that.
Ole Miss dominated in every way during Thursday's game. The Rebels totaled 589 yards of offense, led by 404 yards and four touchdowns from Jaxson Dart and held Duke to seven points until the final four minutes of the game.
For Dart, it was a great way to go out after a decorated tenure at Ole Miss. He goes to the NFL draft this year as the program's all-time leading passer after transferring from USCand his bond with his coach is clear.
But Kiffin joked that a waiver could follow some changes to NCAA eligibility. Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia Notably, he will receive an additional year following his lawsuit, which led to a blanket waiver for all JUCO products who played this season and are eligible in 2025.

They came together, Kiffin said. They played very well. They are really neat players. They've won 21 games the last two years, and this year we blew a few. But I'm just really proud of them and the way they played against a really good team tonight. I think that was the best defense in the ACC.
