Ohio State hockey teams sweep outdoor games at Wrigley Field as men beat Michigan and women beat Wisconsin
Wrigley Field lived up to its promise as The Friendly Confines for Ohio State hockey teams this weekend.
Following the lead of the Ohio States football team's 31-7 win over Northwestern at Wrigley Field in November, the Ohio States men's and women's hockey teams each won their games at Wrigley Field this weekend as part of the Frozen Confines hockey series.
Ohio State men's hockey started the event with a 4-3 victory over Michigan on Friday. Riley Thompson led the Buckeyes to victory over their rival by scoring two goals in the final period, including the game-deciding goal with just 38 seconds to play.

Ohio State women's hockey battled its way to a shootout victory over Wisconsin on Saturday. The Buckeyes and Badgers completed regulation and five minutes of overtime were tied at 3-3, then Ohio State goalie Amanda Thiele and Wisconsin goaltender Ava McNaughton stopped the first 13 consecutive shots in a shootout before Ohio States Jenna Buglioni finally slipped past McNaughton to to secure victory. the Buckeyes.

The women's victory evened the regular-season series between No. 1-ranked Wisconsin and No. 2 Ohio State, who faced each other in the last two national championship games, at 2-2.
The 13th-ranked Ohio State men will play No. 9 Michigan again on Sunday (5 p.m., B1G+) in Ann Arbor before welcoming the Wolverines to the Schottenstein Center for their final series of the regular season on Feb. 27-28.
