The bracket selections were revealed on ESPNU on Sunday, November 24.

What does the 2024-25 FCS bracket look like?

The 2024-25 FCS Playoffs will feature a 24-team bracket, with the top 16 teams seeded and the top eight seeds receiving automatic byes from the second round. The rest of the field of 24 teams (the remaining 16 teams) will play in the first round.

First-round matchups will be regionalized, with Nos. 9 through No. 16 playing unseeded teams to ensure teams travel as little as possible. Likewise, the first round will try to avoid matchups with conference teams that have played each other.

When it comes to hosting games, minimum bids are still required. If the seeded team submits a viable bid in the first round, the higher seeded team will be given the opportunity to host.

How are FCS Championship teams selected?

Twenty-four teams will play for the 2024-25 FCS Championship. At the end of the regular season, 10 conferences (or conference partnerships/alliances) will automatically receive bids to the playoffs. The FCS Championship Committee will select the remaining 14 at-large bids. The committee will also seed the top 16 teams, with the top eight seeds receiving a first-round bye.
