Tennis Central Men: #13 Tennessee vs. Tennessee Tech and Belmont
The Big Orange experienced a steady balance between continued success and new achievements during the previous season. For the third time in the past four years, the Vols surpassed the 25-win mark and reached the NCAA quarterfinals while posting a perfect 18-0 record at home for the first time in program history.

SCOUTING TENNESSEE TECH
The season opener marks the second straight year the Vols will face the Golden Eagles on the opening weekend of spring. Last season, UT defeated Tennessee Tech 7-0 to extend their undefeated record against in-state foes.
SCOUTING BELMONT
Last season, Belmont posted an overall record of 11-10 and reached the final round of the Horizon League tournament. Monday's meeting with Belmont will mark the fourth time these two programs have faced off, with their first meeting dating back to 2013. The Vols lead the overall series 3-0, with their last win coming in 2023 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. . This match will mark a homecoming for the newcomer Ian Cruzas he has played on the field for the Bruins for the past three seasons.

NOTES FROM THE AUTUMN SEASON
The Tennessee men's tennis team combined for 53 singles victories and 36 doubles victories during their fall campaign. An influx of six newcomers who made their Vol debuts in the fall combined for 35 singles wins and 28 doubles wins, giving the team depth and momentum for the spring.
Senior striking Shunsuke Mitsui earned ITA All-American status for the second time in his career after reaching the round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championships in November. Alex Kotzen also earned a trip to Waco after reaching the singles finals at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
NEWCOMERS LOTS
Heading into the spring season, UT has a total of nine newcomers. The Vols will rely heavily on a combination of five freshmen and four transfers, each with different skills that will benefit the team this season.

The Vols will take on another out-of-state foe later this week, heading west to play MTSU on Thursday, January 16 at 6:00 PM ET at the Adams Tennis Complex.
