Pickleball or CPR anyone? Co-Lin Natchez is offering special interest classes this spring

NATCHEZ Copiah-Lincoln Community Colleges Natchez Campus will offer two enrichment courses in spring 2025: Pickleball for Beginners and Basic Life Support (BLS) & CPR. Both classes are designed to teach participants valuable skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Pickleball for Beginners is the perfect introduction for those new to the game or looking to refine their skills. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and is played on a smaller court with sturdy paddles and a perforated plastic ball. The game is accessible to players of all ages and levels and has a fast learning curve. The Pickleball lesson for beginners covers the basics, including the rules of the game, how to serve, how to perform trick shots and more. Participants will have access to paddles, but can also bring their own paddles. Classes are led by experienced instructor Leigh Anne Mason. The fee is $55.
Session 1: Tuesday March 4, 11, 18, 25 and 4
Session 2: Tuesday March 18 and 25; April 1, 8 and 15
Time: 6:15 PM – 7:15 PM
Location: Duncan Park Courts
If you want to acquire life-saving skills, Co-Lin's BLS & CPR course is the perfect opportunity. This hands-on class trains participants in high-quality CPR for cardiac arrest victims, including proper chest compressions and rescue breaths, and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). At the end of the course, participants receive a CPR certificate from the American Heart Association, a certificate recognized nationwide. The class is led by Courtney Nichols for a fee of $70.

Time: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Location: Room 410, Howell Garner Building on the Co-Lin Natchez Campus
To register for either course, call (601) 446-1204 to pay by credit card, or in person at 11 Co-Lin Circle in Natchez to pay by cash or check at the Willie Mae Dunn Library in the Tom Reed Academic Building. Pre-registration is required for both courses. Registration hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
