Men's tennis faces North Florida on the road – University of South Carolina Athletics
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. No. 15 South Carolina men's tennis continues its 2025 spring season with a trip to the University of North Florida for a dual match at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21.
Gamecock notables
- The Gamecocks enter this competition with a 2-1 dual record after hosting the first three games of the spring season at home.
- South Carolina started 2025 with a doubleheader, welcoming Furman and The Citadel on January 12. The Garnet & Black won both programs 7-0. In singles, each Gamecock defeated his opponents in straight sets. Connor Thomson And Casey No shutout Furman's Cole Burnam and Connor Laymon 6-0 in doubles for the first match of the day. First year duo Gabe Avram And Cole Henceroth picked up the second doubles shutout of the day against The Citadel, winning 6-0.
- The Gamecocks hosted No. 5 Virginia the following week, ultimately falling to the Cavaliers 2–5. Thomson and Lucas da Silva South Carolina's get two points after every singles win. Thomson defeated Rafael Jodar in straight sets of 6-4, 6-4, while da Silva took a ranked victory, topping No. 86 Mans Dahlberg in a three-set comeback 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
- Thomson has started the 2024-2025 season with an impressive start in singles and enters tomorrow's match with a perfect 2-0 record.
- Two gamecocks,Sean Daryabeigi(no. 55) andJelani Sarr(No. 77), earned ITA Singles Rankings in the Preseason Coaches Poll. Atakan Karahan and Sarr were ranked No. 85 for doubles.

- The Ospreys opened their spring season at home last weekend with a 4-3 win over Troy.
- Andreas Scott was named ASUN Player of the Week after posting a singles and doubles victory over the Trojans, including a sweep of their No. 1 seed.
Series history
- This will be the first time in program history that the Gamecocks will face the Ospreys in dual match action.
