National Table Tennis Championships 2025: Disputed faction from Rajasthan to qualify for next year's National Games
It may not have won a medal, but the sensational series of TTFI-1 men's outfits, comprising one of the contested factions of the Rajasthan Table Tennis Association (RTTA), has created a stir at the 86th Senior National Table Tennis Championship.
The TTFI-1 men, including Shubham Ojha, Harsh Srivastava, Priyansh Bhati, Anukram Jain and Lakshya Toshniwal, first stunned Bengal to top the group and then marched into the quarterfinals to seal a direct entry for the Next year's National Games, scheduled to be held in Chhattisgarh.
RTTA secretary Sanjay Gehlot hoped that the internal dispute with the other faction can be resolved, thereby fulfilling the National Games ambitions.

Qualifying for the National Games is a huge achievement and honor for the Rajasthan Table Tennis Association. Hopefully all issues will be put on the back burner as soon as possible and the well-being of the players will be a priority.
However, a TTFI official, requesting anonymity, was unsure whether the National Games officials will accept the TTFI-1 team as the official Rajasthan team.
TTFI has always ensured that players do not suffer for any reason and will continue to do so, but it will be difficult to convince the authorities of this special situation when the National Games are played next year, the official said.
With two different factions claiming to be the custodians of table tennis in Rajasthan, the TTFI has allowed both associations to field a team under its banner since the previous Nationals. RTTA, a subsidiary of the TTFI, had filed a petition against the other faction and TTFI, but withdrew it in September 2023.
The TTFI executive committee will be in trouble if the other faction or any of the other states object at the time of the National Games.
The top 10 teams in the men's and women's team championships from the previous Nationals will compete at the National Games.
The main draws for men's and women's singles begin on Friday.
