The South Carolina State Table Tennis Championships return after more than 30 years

For the first time in more than 30 years, the South Carolina State Table Tennis Championships return to the Palmetto State. This historic, sanctioned event will take place on Saturday, February 8 at Carolina Pong, located in Saint Andrews Park, 920 Beatty Road.

Organized by Tripp Roche, the president and founder of Carolina Pong Table Tennis Club, and in partnership with the Richland County Recreation Foundation, the championships are expected to attract more than 50 players from throughout South Carolina and the Southeast. Participants will compete for cash prizes, trophies and the prestigious title of South Carolina State Champion. Carolina Pine will give back 40 percent of all profits to the Richland County Recreation Foundation to provide college scholarships to underprivileged children in the community.

This is a monumental moment for table tennis in South Carolina, Roche said. Not only are we reviving a long-lost tradition, but we are also paving the way for a new era of competitive table tennis in our state. Players, spectators and enthusiasts alike will see the incredible skills and energy that this sport brings.
