Utta assigns a budget of 1.5 billion dollars for the busy calendar of 2025

The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) has unveiled an ambitious calendar for 2025, with both local and international commitments, supported by a budget of 1.5 billion dollars.
The budget predicts an income of at least 272.5 million SH, in which 265 million SH is allocated by the government through the National Council for Sport (NCS). Extra funds will come from the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) and annual contributions from affiliated clubs.
The expenses of the expenditure show that 300 million SH has been assigned to local competitions and 270 million SH of international events. Sports equipment is estimated at 155 million SH, while compliance with the Constitution and the legislation will cost 152 million SH. SH110M is intended for coaching and technical development.
The UTTA also reserves SH236M for the construction of a National Speelarena, with plans to acquire a permanent or semi-permanent location for training and competitions.
Retiring Utta president Robert Jjagwe announced that the General Meeting, held on January 8, 2024, had approved the comprehensive budget despite the government's financing restrictions. “Last year we had a budget of 330 million SH, so many of our programs were limited due to financing uncertainties,” Jjagwe noted.
On the calendar for February are holiday clinics, district programs, the ITTF Africa Cup and club championships. National Eredivisie and School competitions will take place from February to June.
The matches of the International Schools Federation (ISF) are planned for April in Serbia, while in May the ITTF Eastern Africa Regional Senior Championship will take place. The ITTF Africa Continental Hopes and Junior Championships will take place in June, as well as the Kateregga Schools Memorial Championships.
The ITTF Africa Seniors Championship is on the program for Rwanda in October, followed by the Africa Para Championship in Egypt and the ITTF World Youth Championship in Romania in November.
The year is concluded with the World Cup for mixed teams in China and the National Table Tennis Championship in December.
