Ollie Davies' dream to play in the KFC BBL | 14 Final still lives after he is mentioned in Sydney Thunder's 14-player team for the decision maker of Monday evening against Hobart Hurricanes.

Davies who scored top for the Thunder with 36 in their knock -out last victory over Melbourne stars, missed their collision with Sydney Sixers on Friday due to a dijing injury while hitting in that previous game.

The 24-year-old completed a final fitness test in Ninja Stadium on Sunday and comes in the team at the expense of left-handed Blake Nikitaras.

Nikitaras once has in BBL | 14 Played, where he was immersed in the middle of the game to open with David Warner after Cameron Bancroft was a concussion after a collision with Daniel Sams in the field.

The other concussion sub of that competition, Hugh Weibgen, could be the one who makes a seat when Davies returns to the XI for the final.

Weibgen opened against the stars in the Knockout, where he scored 11, but came number 5 the next game against the Sixers with recurring Slagman Jason Sangha, given the nod to partner Warner.

Sangha was the sixth opening partner of Warner this season as the Thunder attempt to fill the void left by the departure of Sam Konstas for the test tour of Australia by Sri Lanka and Bancroft's injury.

Sangha's 19-ball 30 was the top score of a Thunder-Opener this season outside of Warner and Konstas and turned out to be crucial in starting their run-striking to revise the Sixers 7-151 to book their place in the BBL | 14 final.

Regardless of the result in Monday's final, Thunder -head coach Trevor Bayliss said that their BBL | 14 -Campaign would be remembered because of the resilience.

“This year we challenged us in every respect for important players, the demands of international tournaments and the introduction of new faces in the team,” Bayliss said on Match Eve.

“But every time the team came on the opportunity to make an excuses. You can't ask much more from your team than that.

“We know that Hobart will be ready and they have been the form team of the competition.

“But we have shown that we can rise to large occasions and we are convinced that we can do it again on Monday evening.”

The hurricanes, who have won eight of their last nine games to reach the final, have mentioned an unchanged squadron of 14 players of those who beat the Sixers with 12 points in Ninja Stadium in qualifying.

The hurricanes are unbeaten from their six games at home this season, with captain Nathan Ellis praising their adaptability in their previous match against the Sixers.

“This year we won a lot of the throws at home, which meant that we threw first,” said Ellis.

“We are not the last game (win the throw and hit first), and we really adapted to that.

“For me it will be in a certain situation, adjust themselves as quickly as possible and give myself and the team the best platform to win the game.”

The hurricanes are looking for their first Big Bash title in Monday's final, with the Thunder to add a second men's championship to their two ladies' titles after the trophy of the trophy in BBL | 05.
