Welcome to week 3 of Bracketology.
Every week until selection Sunday, March 23, I will outline the current 16 teams in the Mens NCAA Division I tournament and try to sow a bracket Based on the current field.
Last weekend it was advantageous for one team: Connecticut. The Husky's won the Connecticut Ice Tournament -Win -regulation profits on Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart. The Quinnipiac victory is considered a neutral IICE victory, while the victory over Sacred Heart is a weed extraction because the matches were played in Sacred Hearts Arena.
The Huskies two wins they catapulted all the way to fourth place in pair -wise, which means that if the season ended today, UConn would be a number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. That is remarkable when you consider that when January started, Uconn was not even in the projected NCAA field (they were 18th in pair -wise on January 1.
UConn won 14 places by posting a 6-0-1 Mark since the beginning of 2025. Absolutely remarkable.
That said, here are the 16 teams that would be eligible for the NCAA tournament if the season ended today:
1. Boston College*
2. Michigan State*
3. Minnesota
4. Connecticut
5. Maine
6. Western Michigan*
7. Denver
8. Provision
9. Umass Lowell
10. Boston University
11. Ohio State
12. Michigan
13. Quinnipiac*
14. State in Arizona
15. Minnesota State*
16. Sacred Heart
* The team indicates that the top conference is currently winning in their respective conference. While each conference is awarded an autobid for its tournament champion, we will use the first team (based on %) for this exercise to receive the autobid.
With the field of 16 in place, we can now sow the four regions using the basic bracket integrity (1 versus 16, 2 versus 15, 3 versus 14, etc.).
1. Boston College
8. Provision
9. Umass Lowell
16. Sacred Heart
2. Michigan State
7. Denver
10. Boston University
15. Minnesota State
3. Minnesota
6. West -Michigan
11. Ohio State
14. State in Arizona
4. Connecticut
5. Maine
12. Michigan
13. Quinnipiac
If a memory and also for those who are not ordinary readers of bracketology, there is one thing that the committee seems to avoid at all costs and those are the first round matchups between teams from the same conference. In the above bracket we have one: 8 provide versus 9 umass Lowell.
It is possible to make a swap of 9 umass lowell and 11 Ohio status that will clean up that inter conference -matchup. Another option of the committee would be to change 8 Providence with 7 Denver. I tend to switch the lower seed to reward the higher seed.
Making that swap we have the following four regional brackets:
1. Boston College
8. Provision
11. Ohio State
16. Sacred Heart
2. Michigan State
7. Denver
10. Boston University
15. Minnesota State
3. Minnesota
6. West -Michigan
9. Umass Lowell
14. State in Arizona
4. Connecticut
5. Maine
12. Michigan
13. Quinnipiac
With this bracket in place, let's allocate regions to each group with four teams. When we consider this, we have to place guest schools in the region that they organize. At present, none of the four hosts in the field (New Hampshire, Bowling Green, North Dakota and Penn State). So that's no problem this week.
Boston College is the best seed and should play closest to home in Manchester, the state of NH Michigan is the second seed and the nearest region is Toledo, Ohio, less than two hours from Lansing. Minnesota is the third general seed and would go to Fargo, nd, so that Connecticut plays PA.
That gives us the following:
Manchester region
1. Boston College
2. Providence
3. Ohio State
4. Sacred Heart
Toledo region
1. Michigan State
2. Denver
3. Boston University
4. Minnesota State
Fargo region
1. Minnesota
2. Western Michigan
3. Umass Lowell
4. State in Arizona
Allentown region
1. Connecticut
2. Maine
3. Michigan
4. Quinnipiac
Let's see what the presence should be in every region. Manchester is fine with BC, Providence and Sacred Heart. Toledo should be in order with both Michigan State, but having Denver, BU and Minnesota State is not the easiest trip for those fan bases. Fargo is a concern, although, as we said last week, Minnesota is one of the nearest teams of Fargo, not North Dakota. The state of Arizona also has a strong national fan base.
The relevant region remains Allentown. As we said last week, as long as Penn State does not make the field, drawing will be a struggle in Allentown. UConn is about a four -hour drive by car and Quinnipiac for an hour closer. Maine travels well, but not so well and Michigan, although a national presence, it is difficult to count on them to help with presence.
Is there something we can do? Not really. When we look at the field of 16 teams, two of the nearest teams already sent Geographically to Allentown (Uconn, Quinnipiac).
So we only let this leave this for this week.
Here is the last bracket:
Manchester region
1. Boston College
2. Providence
3. Ohio State
4. Sacred Heart
Toledo region
1. Michigan State
2. Denver
3. Boston University
4. Minnesota State
Fargo region
1. Minnesota
2. Western Michigan
3. Umass Lowell
4. State in Arizona
Allentown region
1. Connecticut
2. Maine
3. Michigan
4. Quinnipiac
Last in: Arizona State, Michigan
First from: New Hampshire, Massachusetts **
** Wisconsin scores higher in purple but not tournament is now eligible because the current record is lower .500

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
