Does Alabama Football have an offensive line problem prior to the 2025 season?
Ryan Grubb knows exactly what he wants the Alabama Football Rungame to look like next fall.
The Crimson Tide -offensive coordinator wants physicality. He wants technical runners who seamlessly switch between indoor and outdoor zone, counters, pin-pulls, forces and sweeps: none of them is new to Alabama.
But for Grubb it is a mentality, Alabama has to be able to run football when and wherever.
“I think the boys know that to win the late games and the play -offs and things like that,” said Grubb, “There must be a mentality and attitude that you should be able to run football.
For Alabama, that mentality is not just about running such as Jam Miller, Richard Young or Louisiana Transfer Dre'lyn Washington. It is about the attacking line at the front, a line that is apparently moving at the start of spring training.
Certain pieces have been set: Parker Brailsford is back in the middle, Jaeden Roberts is back on the right and Kadyn Proctor is back at the left tackle. Wilkin Formby is apparently collected as the starting right tackle of the Crimson Tide after Elia Pritchett had been transferred to Nebraska. And the right guard still seems to pick up with incoming Texas A&M Transfer Kam Dewberry, first -year student Michael Carroll and returners such as Olaus Alinen who fight for Snaps.
But that is not the problem for the Crimson Tide in advance. It is the lack of depth in the room, the lack of options between the starters in front and the four-person first-year class of Carroll, Jackson Lloyd, Micah Debose and Mal Waldrep Jr., emphasized by a number of spring injuries, including Proctor.

Miller is not worried.
Asked about Alabama's attacking line, he said he sees a “big, physical” unity “just grinding” and works to improve.
It is the kind of line that Miller and Alabama must meet the expectation that Grubb has to meet at the Crimson Tide Run game.
“At the moment all our boys are training, being physical,” said Miller. “The person who is involved, who is in practice, of course they go outside and do their thing.”
Alabama will end his spring practice schedule at noon on 12 April with his annual a day of spring competition in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
