The WJFCA will honor five new Inductees to the South Jersey Football Coaches Hall of Fame in August

The West Jersey Football Coaches Association will recognize five Inductees in the 2025 class in August for the South Jersey Football Coaches Hall of Fame.

Former athletic director Mike Gatley will join coaches Pete Lancetta, Matthew Shultz and Mike Sheridan together with Mediamid Kevin Minnick, who have all been appointed as the class of 2025, the WJFCA announced on social media on Monday.

The new Inductees are honored during the tranquility of the Battle of the Beach match between IMG Academy and Winslow competition in Carey Stadium in Ocean City on 28 August.

Gatley was the president of the West Jersey Football League, Cape-Atlantic League and South Jersey Chapter of the National Football Foundation. He was the athletic director of Hammonton from 2001-11 and returned to his Alma Materieeland to hold the same position before he resigned last year. Gatley received the Athletic Director of the Year Award from the Director of Athletics Association of New Jersey for the 2019-2020 school year.

Lancetta has won more than 200 games, together with 14 conference titles and four sectional titles during his coaching career in Hammonton and now St. Augustine.

Sheridan coached at Sterling, Collingswood, West Deptford and Haddon Township. He stepped as head coach of the Hawks in 2020.

Shultz has long been an assistant coach at Cherokee and West Deptford.

Minnick has more than 30 years in high school sports in the South Jersey area, including time with the courier post. He is currently working for NJ.com.
