Man arrested after football recruitment Discovered in Georgia

The man, Malcolm Walker, was arrested and was accused of theft by deception, said the GaineSville police.
A Georgia man was arrested and charged after several law enforcement agencies said he had families pay for recruitment travel with football that never happened.
The man, Malcolm Walker, is accused of theft by deception, Lieutenant Kevin Holbrook of the GaineSville police confirmed on Wednesday morning to USA Today. He was arrested on March 3 and was booked in the prison of Hall County.
According to Holbrook, a GaineSville man called the police on December 18 to report a case of fraud. He said he sent Walker a total of $ 1,023 via Cash app after Walker promised to connect a football player who identified the man as his son to recruiters.
According to the man, he sent the money to cover airline tickets and game congregations that Walker promised, said Holbrook.
Walker told the man that his own son played football at Buford High School and received a fair at Colorado University. Walker said he could make the same thing happen for the man's son, according to Holbrook.
(Walker) used hope and a future to hunt our youth, with the help of their parents' goodwill and guardians, Holbrook wrote on Wednesday morning in an e -mail to USA.

Walker did not immediately respond to requests for comments from USA Today's via e -mail and social media on Wednesday morning.
The suspect was a strong presence on social media
According to television station Weight-TVSaid Walker in a now deleted or private social media post that he “did not reach anyone for me to inform someone ever.”
“There are details that coaches and organizations are looking for and your child may not be the way they are looking, he reportedly wrote. That does not mean stopping other opportunities for your child and that absolutely does not mean that the dreams we may have wanted to get through, sometimes fail.
Walker, who also does comedy and Goes the name Busta According to his social media pages, previously shared videos on his Facebook page of himself commenting on the football skills of young players using the hashtag #bustarecruits.
In one February 3 Video, he shared images of a Thomson High School footballer and noticed the reputation at the schools for his great athletes.
If it comes from Thomson High School, you already know the family tree, Walker said in the video, adding the caption no offers? Really not!
Weight-TV Speaked with two prosecutors of Walkers, Phyllip Becoats and a senior at GaineSville High School called BJ Bailey, whom he had accompanied. Another coach suggested that Becoats Walker reached so that he could make a video about the student athlete, Waga-TV reported. Walker made the video and then three months later, called Becats and said that coaches from the University of Colorado Bailey wanted to meet.
Becats told the outlet that he also saw Walkers videos on social media, including videos where he seemed to be well connected.
There was never a trip to Colorado in store for Georgia Senior
“I see him rubbing elbows with the coaches in Colorado, Becoats told Waga TV. Plus, he has to do with his child. So I think he is a good guy.
When the journey did not flourish, Becoats asked for a reimbursement. Walker promised him to give the $ 1,023 in five days, but the money never came, Waga-TV reported.
Becats then went to the police.
Holbrook, from the GaineSville police, told WAGA TV that bank information led researchers to Walker. Based on what researchers have found, there would never be a trip to Colorado for the student athlete.
Bailey, those mentors, and tried to help, said good people don't do things like this.
“I don't think you can have a soul if you hunt for children who work very hard to get what they want and then you just play them out of their money and out of their dreams,” he said.
Becoats, who reached for contact with Walker to help his mentee, managed to help the senior coaches at the Maryville College in Tennessee, where he has a complete stock exchange, WAGA TV reported.
He told the television station that it is incredible that Walker would do this with children.
“They work so hard to reach that level, and for a man to do something like that, to just build them, and then they get that emotional disappointment like that is just crazy,” he said Waga-TV.
Investigation, police in search of other victims to come forward
Holbrook said that fraud cases such as this can be difficult to investigate because of the time and resources needed to examine them. Things often grow old, he said.
The researcher has put a lot of time and effort into following the leads and evidence, said Holbrook. These are white collar cases, in which technology, accounting and forensic research come together.
The police believe that Walker has stolen at least tens of thousands of dollars.
The GaineSville police said that those who have worked with Walker can contact their local police to report him. The agency has received phone calls from other law enforcement agencies that say that Walker has also been reported to them. There are cases in the entire state, Holbrook told Waga-TV.
“We have been informed by several law enforcement agencies, several people who have said, Hey, that is the same man who did this to us,” Holbrook said the outlet.
This story has been updated to clarify the case that was reported to the police in GaineSville, Georgia.
