All-Wiac Ladies Ice Hockey Subinations Unveiled

-The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its Womens Ice Hockey Awards for the 2025 season, based on voices by the conference coaches.

University of Wisconsin-River Falls Bailey Olson was selected as the Kwik Trip Player of the Year, while teammate Kylie Jones received Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year Honors. UW-RIVE FALLS Joe Cranston secured the recognition of the Kwik Trip Coach of the Year.

Selection of Olsons marks the eighth time that UW-River Falls has secured a player the distinction. She was an honorable mention selection in the last two seasons. Olson leads the Wiac with 25 goals, 29 assists, 54 points and 149 shots, while binding for the first time with six Power-Play goals. Olson has at least one point in 23 of 28 games, including a seasonal six points against St. Catherine University (Minn.) On January 9.

A newcomer is defined as a student athlete who used her first season of participation in ladies ice hockey this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they have not participated in women's ice hockey in their previous institution.

Cranston claimed the coaching prize for the second consecutive season and the fifth time in his career (2017, 2019, 2021, 2024). He led the Falcons to the WIAC championship and Obrien Cup title. The Falcons have a 23-3-2 record and will make their 16th NCAA appearance this year. Cranston achieved his 500th career victory against Concordia College-Moorhead (Minn.) On January 3.
