UW-Stevens Points Leising called Womens Ice Hockey Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete
Madison, Wis.-University of Wisconsin-Stevens Points Courtney Leising has been appointed receiver of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (Wiac) Ice Hockey Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award from 2025 Wisconsin.
Leising, a senior from Maple Grove, Minn. (Maple Grove), maintains an average of 3.92 degrees and is main subject in computer information systems with a minor in data analysis. She was appointed as the Academic All-district Ladies at-Large Team 2023-24, selected by the university sports communicators. Leising received American Hockey Coaches Association Krampade All-American Scholar Recognition in 2022, 2023 and 2024. She is a triple member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, recognized on Uw-Stevenspunt Dean list many times and received an academic Study Fair in 2022.
Leising is a triple all-Wiac First Team selection and received newcomer of the year awards in 2022. She is a team captain this season and has led the instructions in goals for four consecutive years. Leising was also the assists and points leader in 2024 and 2025.
She is a member of Uw-Stevens Points Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has served as co-chairman of mental health care over the past two years.
UW-RIVER FALLS Brooke Lemke (Sr., Avon, Minn./albany Area) and UW-Superiors Jenna Hoops (Sr., Woodbury, Minn./visitation School) were also nominated for this year Scholar-Athlete Award.
The Wiac Scholar-Athlete Award is named after Judy Kruckman who served as an assistant commissioner for the Wiac from 1996-98. Prior to this appointment, she was commissioner of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) of October 1984-September 1996. Kruckman was the ladies atletie director at UW-EAU Claire of 1974-84, and one of the original representatives of the WWIAC was then made in the WWIAC in the WWIAC in the WWIAC in 1971. 2012.
