Former Chinese table tennis player Xu Keo has been suspended for sexual violence for 10 years. She is the husband of Jeon Ji-hee, who played 10 years before the Korean table tennis team.
According to the South China Morning Post of Hong Kong on the 13th, the International Table Tennis Federation announced on the 11th that XU, a coach and former Chinese player, was convicted of breaking the reflective intimidation policy of ITTF. The federation also forbade XU to play for 10 years.
Xu, who rose in the world until 129th when he was active, denied the accusations of sexual violence and claimed that the statement was “a serious distortion of the facts.”
Xu continued his New Year's celebrations early in the morning of January 1, 2021, by inviting four people to his hotel room for a drink, according to a Federation Investigation. Among the four players there was reportedly a player in the Table tennis teams of Korean and Hong Kong.
The victim claimed that when other players tried to leave the room, she wanted to leave, but Xu pulled her over to stay more.
Later, when the victim returned to her room, Xu said she wanted to talk to an online messenger on the phone to ask where her room was.
Allegedly the victim XU gave the room number, but repeatedly sent her to sleep because she was tired. The international table tennis federation later claimed that Xu knocked on her door and forced her and raped her.
XU has issued a statement in which the claims of the international table tennis federation are displayed on the 9th.
“An American table tennis player asked me to coach him,” he said at the time of the incident. “I spoke to him because he asked me to continue the conversation in his room, and it took less than a minute.”
“This statement is a serious distortion of the facts,” he said. “There is no physical evidence or police file of the case claimed by the International Table Tennis Federation, and it is only a one -sided statement from the player that he is a victim.”
In response, the International Table Tennis Federation said: “The hearing committee tried to involve XU in different hearing procedures, but he did not respond to all requests and did not participate in the hearing,” adding it “, it officially did nothing to defend itself.”
In the meantime, XU recently married Jeon Ji-hee, who was naturalized to Korea in 2011 and played for the National Table Tennis team. Jeon Ji-hee returned to China after officially retiring last month.
Xu has previously coached his current wife Jeon Ji-hee. According to a study by the International Table Tennis Federation, one of the players in the Chamber of XU on the day of the incident was a player he coached, but it is not known whether it was Jeon Ji-hee.
