Funeral services for former LSU – football player Marc Boutte – LSU
Baton Rouge Funeral Services are set for former LSU football -falling Marc Boutte, who died last week.
Services for Boutte will be held on Saturday 15 March in Lake Charles in the Combre Funeral Home in 1200 Mill Street. Visitation takes place from 9 am to 10:45 am on Saturday, followed by the funeral service at 11 am in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Boutte, a resident of Lake Charles, La., Was a four-year-old letter winner for the Tigers of 1988-91 and in 1990 earned as a junior in the first team All-SEC Honors as a junior followed by backstring as a senior in 1991.
Boutte appeared in 44 games during his LSU career and started 32 times on the line of defense. He ended his career with 245 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 12 bags. He was named one of the three permanent team captains for the Tigers and both junior and senior.
During his All-SEC season in 1990, Boutte had 68 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six bags for the Tigers.
He was selected in the third round of the 1992 NFL design by the Los Angeles Rams and spent eight years playing in the competition for the Rams (1992-93) and the Washington Redskins (1994-99). He made 191 career tackles, forced eight junk and took nine bags in his 102 game NFL career.
Boutte joined the Tigers in 1988 after a leading role at Lake Charles-Boston High School, where he earned the first team 3a all-state awards as a senior. He was also appointed as the Baton Rouge Advocate Super boxes.
Born on July 15, 1969, Boutte was 55 years old at the time of his death.
