Mclinskey, Oliphant, Gale, Riga called Atlantic Hockey Individual Award Finalists

Worcester, mass. Seniors Liam McLinskey And Thomas GalejuniorMack Oliphantand head coach Bill Riga were appointed as finalists for Atlantic Hockey Individual Awards, the League Office announced Thursday. The prize winners will be announced on Tuesday, March 18.

McLinskeyThe ruling Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year and Score Champion, is a finalist for Atlantic Hockey Forward of the Year. His 43 points, 20 goals and 1.26 points per match led the competition, while his 23 assists were bound for the fourth highest digit. Mclinskey, who was appointed on Tuesday as the All-Atlantic Hockey First Team, enters the semi-final with 47 points at 22 goals and 25 assists, which are on the fifth, sixth and 15^one In the nation, respectively.

Riga,In his fourth season at the helm is a finalist for coach of the year for the second consecutive season. Riga led the Crusaders to an Atlantic Hockey Regular Season Champions Title and number 1 seed this season – the first time that Holy Cross has been at the top of the competition since 2006.

During the term of office of Riga, the team has been steadily improved every year; In his first season on the Heuvel in 2021-22, the Riga team ended the year at 12-23-2 after the Crusaders ended with a 4-12-0 record in the Covid-Shorted season prior to his arrival. Two years ago, Holy Cross achieved 17 victories and won the Atlantic Hockey title competition, and last year the Crusaders placed their first 20-win season since 2012-13.
