Tennis to open Cusa game in Jax State, Kennesaw State
Jacksonville, ALA After 12 days without a double match, Sam Houston Ladies Tennis team returns to action while the Bearkats start playing the USA conference on Friday afternoon in Jax State.
The match is the first of a road trip with two games. On Sunday the Kats will take the latest Cusa member Kennesaw State on the home jobs of the owls.
“We look forward to getting the USA Action Conference,” Bellkat -Hoofdcoach Rob Hubbard said. “There is a lot of parity in this competition. Every competition becomes a difficult one.”
The Bearkats placed a 4-4 record in pre-conference action. The four wins include a few victories over LSU Shreveport and one victory versus both Prairie View and Lamar.
“The victory over Lamar on the road was really a good thing for us,” said Hubbard. “In our victories and especially in our competitions with strong teams such as Texas A&M and Rice, we have shown many fights. That is what we need during this trip.”
The opponent Jax State of Friday has a 5-4 mark with victories over Presbyterian, Eastern Kentucky, Alabama A&M, Florida A&M and LipsComb.
