Heren Tennis wins Doubles Point but falls with reigning CAA champion UNCW
De Stam (3-7, 1-2 CAA) started things with double victories on Court 2 and Court 3 to take a 1-0 lead. Thanks to an early break, senior Sean Joseph and freshmen Gur Trakhtenberg Combined for a 6-2 victory against Harold Huens of the Seahawks and Lukas Steffen at number 2. The couple went to 2-2 this season.
Senior Alexander Karman and junior Albert Hansen achieved the Doubles point with a 6-4 victory over Alex de Gabriele and Oscar Baumgartner at number 3. The Stampaar took his fifth victory of the year.
UNCW (4-7, 1-0 CAA) proceeded to win all six singles matches to note his first CAA victory of the year. Hansen fought in a third set at number 3. After Joseph Wayand of UNCW took the opening set, 6-1, the Stamjunior replied with a 6-3 victory in the second. Wayand held on to pick up the victory 6-0 in the third.
