Troy, Ala. The Tennis team of Troy Women is back in the win column after a strong 4-2 victory over James Madison in the Lunsford Tennis Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Troy (7-6, 2-2 SBC) returned after a heavy loss on Saturday, because it handed his company during the game and won three singles matches to end his weekend in a high tone.
In Doubles, the Trojans kicked things with a 6-4 victory in the number 3 spot of the duo of Leena Metwally And Gabrielle Leslie. Maria Guirgui And Valeriia Avdeeva Followed that with a 6-4 victory in the first place to give Troy the early 1-0 benefit. The Trojan horses are now 6-1 in competitions where they win the opening point.
James Madison (4-10, 2-2 SBC) replied back with a few victories in Singles at number 1 and no. 6 to take a 2-1 lead. The Trojan horses, however, had their own answer, while Guirguis equalized the score with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over number 2. Avdeeva followed a 7-5, 6-4 victory over the No. 4 place. Avdeeva is now 11-1 in Singles this spring and has won its last 10 games.
Troy achieved the match thanks to a 7-5, 6-4 victory of Metally at number 3. The second-year students is 5-5 in the season and 4-4 in third place.
The last singles match in Court 5 did not end with Veena Nazar leading with 4-1 in the third set.
