New -Zeelandse PM steals the show while he plays the street cricket with Kapil Dev. Watch
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon enjoyed a game of street cricket with former India captain Kapil DEV in New Delhi. Luxon and Kapil worked together to take on the Nieuw -Zeeland Spinner Ajaz Patel and Ross Patel, who retired in 2022 from the international cricket. In a video placed by PM Luxon on Instagram, who has now become viral on social media, he and Kapil enjoyed their time while playing with some children in a special event in the national capital. PM Luxon stole the show while he took two great catches in the slip Cordon, leaving Taylor and Ajaz amused.
“Work hard in India to get it out of the park for Kiwis,” subtitled the video in a joint post with Ajaz Patel.
PM Luxon also shared some photos on his official X account (formerly Twitter), in the briefs while Taylor had a crack with the young bowlers.
Earlier this week, Luxon Prime Minister met Narendra Modi, with the two who shared a chatter during the Joint Press Meet.
PM Modi was amused by his new -Zeeland counterpart Christopher Luxon's hilarious remark about the Champions Trophy 2025 final during their meeting on Monday.
During his address, Luxon said that he deliberately avoided talking about Cricket and the final of the Champions Trophy to prevent a “diplomatic incident”.
India defeated New -Zeeland in the Summit Clash to claim the Champions Trophy 2025 title in Dubai. Last year, Luxon also mentioned the 3-0 regional gain for New Zealand in India, which eventually hit the side led by Rohit Sharma from the last race of World Test Championship (WTC).
“I really appreciate that PM Modi has not mentioned the Champions Trophy loss of New Zealand for India, and I did not mention our test victories in India. Let's keep it that way and avoid a diplomatic incident,” said Luxon modes laughing at the chatter.
Former cricket team of the New Zealand team Ross Taylor was also present and even he was amused during the event by the joke between the two world leaders.
Luxon also praised the Indian cricket team for their dominant display in recent times.
“During the office of PM Modi, the Men was in Blue (Indian Cricket Team) the most dominant side in Cricket, the most recently winning the Champions trophy in Dubai against my men in Black (New -Zeelandse CricketteAm). They broke many new -Zeelanders in the process, including mine.
