Auyl Sport: Table tennis is now accessible in villages
The Auyl Sport project is expanding its reach and offers new opportunities. As part of the program, an exciting sport -table tennis will still be available in rural areas. This initiative is implemented by a partnership between the Halyk Charity Fund, founded by Timur and Dinara Kulibayev, and the Table Tennis Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main goal of this agreement is to develop table tennis in rural areas, to involve children in the sport and to improve the skills of coaches and referees. Through the Auyl Sport project, children in villages get new opportunities to develop their talents.
As part of the initiative, both parties have agreed to offer methodological support, to organize competitions and to hold other sporting events. Moreover, this cooperation aims to promote a philanthropy culture and to encourage mass participation in sport.
Developing sports in the countryside is one of our most important objectives of the base. We have implemented large-scale projects to promote Grassroots sports in the regions. The recording of table tennis in the Auyl Sport project marks the start of new opportunities for children and teenagers, says Galymbek Zhaksylykov, executive director of the Halyk Charity Fund.
Tabel tennis is one of the most accessible sports in the world. It does not require expensive equipment and can even be organized in small rural schools. The sport is developing quickly in Kazakhstan, and thanks to the Auyl Sport project, children in the countryside will now get the chance to reach a professional level.
Auyl sport a platform for future champions
The Auyl Sport project was launched in 2024 and has become the largest sports initiative for children in the countryside. Last year, 12,000 young athletes from 200 settlements took part in regional tournaments, with 1,300 top competitors who go to the final from 17 regions. The project currently includes boxing, wrestling, karate, basketball, volleyball and chess, and table tennis are added in 2025.
Since 2016, Halyk Charity Fund has implemented more than 120 social projects aimed at education, health care and sports development. Auyl Sport is one of the systematic initiatives of the basis to make sport accessible to children, to shape their character and to open new opportunities for them.
This project changes lives by ensuring that every child, regardless of where they live, has the chance to exercise.
