Virginia Women's Tennis | No. 2 Virginia suffers 4-1 defeat against CAL
Charlottesville, va. The No. 2 Virginia Womens Tennis Team lost its second consecutive game on Friday (March 21) and fell 4-1 against CAL (8-4, 5-0 ACC) in the Virginia Tennis Facility in the Boars Head Resort.
First-year Martina Genis Salas registered the only point for the Cavaliers (12-4, 4-2 ACC).
Cal started the game with a 6-4 victory over Doubles Court Three. Genis Salas and Junior Annabelle Xu followed a 6-4 victory over Doubles Court Two, but the Golden Bears took the Doubles point with a 7-6 (4) victory at the Top Dubbelshof.
The Golden Bears expanded their lead to 2-0 with a straight set of victory over Court Four.
Within a few seconds of each other, Cal took a straight set victory on the field three before Genis Salas De Cavaliers got on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Court Five.
The Golden Bears closed the game at the Tophof and won 7-6 (4), 6-3 to win the victory.
