Mens Tennis Splits Road Trip in Virginia – Stanford Cardinal
Charlottesville, va. No. 8 Stanford Mens Tennis suffered his first setback in the last six games and fell at number 6 Virginia, 4-2. The cardinal is falling to 13-5 and 5-3 in the ACC this season.
Virginia took the double point with victories on courts two and three to take an early lead in the game, and led by two, 2-0, after a singles victory on Court Five. Nico Godsick cut the shortage in two at the court six with a straight victory, 6-3, 6-4, and Henry von der Schulenburg leveled the score on 2-2 with a three set of victory over Hof four, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2. The victory was Von der Schulenburg's team-leading 13th of the season, while God'sick picked up his 10th in Singles play.
Kyle Kang forced a third set with a 7-5 tiebreak victory in his second set on Court One, but Virginia achieved three sets on courts two and three to achieve a 4-2 victory in the game.
