Charlottesville, va. The No. 6 Virginia Mens Tennis team took a 4-2 victory at No. 8 Stanford to end the weekend on Sunday (March 23) in the Virginia Tennis Facility in the Boars Head Resort.

First-year Keegan Rice gathered to achieve the victory for the Cavaliers (12-6, 4-4 ACC) at the court three, which helps Virginia the Cardinal (13-5, 5-3 ACC) at the top.

The Cavaliers used two new Double Teams to open the competition. Sophomore Dylan Dietrich and Rice worked together for the Firs time on Doubles Court Two and took a 6-2 victory to start the game. Graduated student James Hopper and first-year-old Roy Horovitz received the crucial break at 5-5 on Doubles Court Three, with the Doubles point conquered with a 7-5 victory.

First-year Jangjun Kim added to the UvA lead with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Court Five on Hudson Rivera.

Stanford secured the game with a straight set of victory over Court Six and a three-set victory over Court Four.

Dietrich placed the cavaliers in the front again and ran away with the third set to take his match 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 against no. 76 Max Basing on Court Two.

Rice dropped the opening set on the field three to Alex Razeghi, but recovered to take the second set 6-2 to force a decision-maker. In the last set, Rice was a break several times, but Rally to pull 5-4 forward. He broke Razeghis in the next game to win the victory for De Hoos.
