Party held in Care Home to celebrate the first birthday
Guests enjoyed cocktails and live music as a care home in Wheatley celebrated his first birthday with a party earlier this month.
Residents and employees of Wellford Gardens marked the opportunity alongside members of the local community.
Dorte Chandler, general manager, said: “In the past year, Wellford has become more than just a care home – we have become part of Wheatley.

“Thank you to everyone who has joined us for the celebrations. We look forward to many years of special memories, laughter and connection.”
From March of this year, 28 long -term residents were brought into the house, with several others staying in the short term and new residents were coming.
Wellford Gardens was officially opened in June 2024 by the Duke of Gloucester.
Mary, who does volunteer work since the opening in the house (Image: OshCt) Sally Ann Connolly, event manager at Wellford Gardens, said: “We have grown our Wellford family to the point where we have great residents and really strong community links.
“The local table tennis group donated us a table, allowing us to start a table tennis club.
We run a normal bridge club with friends of a resident who enjoys the card game. We also regularly visit a local church service and have ties with two nurseries.
“Our connection with the community has grown further in the past year.”
