Patriot League Mens And Womens Tennis Players Of The Week (3.25.25)

Bethlehem, Pa. Army West Point wiped Patriot League Tennis Awards this week, as the League announced respectfully on Tuesday.

Army West Point First-year student Jackson Armistead was named Patriot League Mens player of the week after placing a 3-0 record in the Black Knights 3-0 week.

Army West Point Senior Cooper Jackson achieved the Patriot League Ladies Player of the Week Honors after being 3-0 on two games for the Black Knights.

Boston University Sophomore Uma Bakaityte, Marine Senior Emily Tannenbaum and Junior Herrick Legaspi, Lehigh Sophomore Maggie Fornerner and Marc Blekman and Lafayette Senior Arman Ganchi deserved honorable mentions.

Men's player of the week
Jackson Armistead, Army West Point, Fr., Boca Raton, Fla./ South Carolina Connections Academy

*Armistead was 3-0 about singles and Doubles in the Black Knights 3-0 week with two competition wins.
*Armistead earned a 6-1.6-1 victory over no. 1 singles and a 6-3 victory over number 3 Doubles against Loyola Maryland.
*Against Holy Cross Armistead, a 6-4.6-1 victory collected no. 1 singles.

Women's player of the week
Cooper Jackson, Army West Point, Sr., Tampa, Fla.// Cambridge Christian School

*Jackson went 3-0 over two games for the Black Knights in Team Wins against Holy Cross and Loyola Maryland.
*Jackson went 1-0 in Singles with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win over Holy Cross on number 1 singles.
*The senior went 2-0 in double at number 1 and achieved a 6-3 victory against Loyola and a 6-0 victory on the Holy Cross with partner Paige Herremans.

Honor
Uma Bakaityte, Boston University, SO., Kaunas, Lithuania/Kaunas Jesuit

Bakaityte helped Boston University Lehigh to beat 5-2 and remained unbeaten in Patriot League game. She achieved a 6-3, 6-3 victory over number 1 singles and worked with Gabriella Mikaul for a 6-1 win over number 1 Doubles.

Emily Tannenbaum, Navy, Sr., Commack, NY/ Scare

Emily Tannenbaum went 3-1 in singles and double to help the navy win over Lehigh and Buckknell in their opening weekend of Patriot League. She achieved singles victories on Buckknell and Lehigh and worked with Olivia Fermo for a 6-1 Doubles victory against Lehigh.

Maggie Fornerner, Lehigh, SO., Libertyville, Ill.// Libertyville

Fornerner won both singles matches in Patriot League game and deserved Lehigh's only point against Navy with a 6-1, 7-2 victory at number 2 singles. She followed with a three-set victory over number 2 singles, 7-5, 3-6, 10-7, for her second consecutive competition victory.

Herrick Legaspi, Navy, Jr., Sacrament, Calif.

Legaspi posted a 4-0 record a week, won at number 1 singles and no. 2 Doubles with Charlie Spencer in both games. He achieved a 6-2, 6-0 singles victory and a 7-5 Doubles victory in Navys 7-0 Sweep or Coppin State, followed by a 6-4, 6-1 Singles victory and 6-3 Doubles victory in the Mids match against Temple.

Marc Blekman, Lehigh, Sr., Glenview, Ill.// Glenbrook South

Blekhman went 2-0 in Singles and Doubles in Navys wins Saint Francis and defeated Alan Gonzalez 6-1, 6-4 at no. 2 singles. He also worked with Sean Jaeger for a 7-6 (7-4) Tiebreak victory at number 1 Doubles.

Armman Ganch, Lafayette, Sr., Wayne, NJ/ Montclair Kimberley Academy

Ganchi went 3-1 in singles and 3-1 in double at number 1 for Lafayette, earned victories against Depauw, Fairmont State and Loyola Maryland. He also assured double victories with partner Nick McKenzie against Fairmont State, Loyola Maryland and Holy Cross.
