Former Duke University football player announced that Charlotte Realtor has killed, says Document Says

Charlotte, NC (WBTV) – The man that Acquaintance A Charlotte broker last summer was a former football player from Duke University, sources confirmed.

A sworn explanation said that Brandon David Braxton confessed that he had killed Whitney Hurd after she was found dead in her Southpark -Stadshuis on July 14, 2024. Braxton was arrested and charged With Hurds Murder on March 20, 2025 – more than eight months after her death.

Hurd was found by a private researcher and had several stab wounds and was wrapped in bloody bedding.

Researchers could use DNA and fingerprint certificate to connect Braxton with the murder.

Since Hurd was killed in July, the court reports showed that Braxton was arrested at least seven other times in Mecklenburg County and he has had to deal with charges with a mistreatment on a female, simple attack, injury to ownership and Larceny.

Prior to his arrest on March 20, he was not confronted with accusations with regard to the death of Hurds, although he was mentioned person of interest.

In connection with the Hurd case, Braxton was accused of murder of the first degree and theft with a dangerous weapon. The theft came after he reportedly stolen Hurds BMW X3 and her phone.

He was still in the prison of Mecklenburg County at the time of this writing and was held without a band.

Affidavit: Braxton said that Hurd looked petrified the last time

A sworn explanation said that during an interview of August 2024 with detectives Detectives, Braxton said that he nodded up and down in the affirmative when he was asked if he knew what happened to Whitney, but refused to work out. Less than a week after Braxton was accused of murder of Hurds, sources confirmed that he was a former Duke football player.

The athletics of the university website showed that he was in the team from 2010-2013 and was a broad recipient for the most part of his collegial career. He played in 42 games for the Blue Devils and caught 93 passes for nearly 900 yards and three touchdowns.

His biography page of the player said he went to the Providence High School in Charlotte before he went to Duke and said his father was a former NFL player David Braxton. The younger Braxton was twice an academic selection of all-acc.
