Sharath Kamal wants to bend in style
The WTT star -Medging Chennai 2025 will be an emotional one for one of Indias Greatest table tennis players ever, Sharath Kamal, who will call time on his illustrious career who spoke for two decades when his competition ends in Chennai this weekend.
In his incredible career, Kamal represented his country five times at the Olympic Games and is a 10-way national champion. However, the greatest legacy he leaves behind is his Commonwealth Games record of 13 medals, including seven gold, three silver and three bronze between 2006 and 2022.
At the age of 42, Kamal will be the oldest player who comes to the WTT -star Chennai 2025, and although his current world ranking of 92 does not suggest that he will win the title, he will get the support of a huge home crowd behind him who can be a significant factor.

Ankur Bhattacharjee – Indias Rising Star
Currently placed number five in the world in the Boys Singles category in the WTT youth ranking list, Ankur Bhattacharjee is one of the most promising young people in Indian Table Tennis and the WTT -star introduces Chennai 2025 competition in excellent form.
The 18-year-old Prodigy already has three boys singles national championship titles under his belt, but his greatest achievements so far made back-to-back WTT youth candidate titles in Tunis in 2024 and Cappadocia last month, where he defeated Irans Benyamin Faraji in Straight Games.
Bhattacharjee is attracted to fellow youngsters and fellow countryman Suravajula in the first round of the competition, but he will also come together with Ayhika Mukherjee in the Mixed Doubles event after beating Anirban and Swastika Ghosh 3-2 in qualification on Wednesday.

Sreeja Akula wants to shine for India Women
In the Womens Tournament, India will pins their hope for Sreeja Akula. She is ranked 33rd in the world, making her the second highest ranking Indian female table tennis player worldwide, only behind Manika Batra, who is the world number 27 from the beginning of March.
However, Akula did not make the biggest start of 2025, but fall apart in all five tournaments in which she has played so far.
