World Cricketers Associations report to change cricket: BCCIS share to reduce to 10%, introduction of four 21-day windows for international cricket | Cricket -Nieuws

The World Cricketers 'Association (WCA) has issued an extensive report entitled:' History, that embraces change. A uniform coherent global future 'to repair the current' broken global structure 'of cricket. After an assessment of six months, the WCA has come up with important recommendations, including protected windows for international cricket, a fairer entry distribution model that supports growth and competition balance, a better regulation of players' movements in T20 competitions and an ICC that is a global administrative body and not a members club. The Indian Express looks at some of the talk points of the recommendations
With all the T20 competitions apart from the IPL that has no window and coincides with international competitions that force players to give up the national contract, the WCA wants a simpler, easier to follow the global calendar and international competition structures – which must apply from 2028 and 2029. The WCA wants four 21-day windows in Core International Cricket (CIC) where teams play each other in his division in one series about a two-year cycle. Each series would contain a minimum of one competition in any size and each format would have a competition table that takes you to an ICC event. When this CIC is switched on, there is no room for T20 competitions. Teams can also play bilateral series outside this proposed window. The report has submitted what an international calendar should look like before 2028: February-March, May-June, September and December and includes the T20 World Cup in October-November and the LA28 Olympic Games in July.
Economy: BCCIS share to lower from 38.5 to 10%
The report says that current global cricket finances are not optimized, balanced or effective to achieve a competition balance and growth, so that the sport does not reach its global potential. Moreover, it also says that players do not earn reasonably well compared to the wealth they generate. The report shows that 70% of the income is generated in just three months of the year and 83% of all income is shared between only three countries and the income generated by other than the large three – India, England and Australia – is less than 4%. From this are payments to players about 10% of all income. To improve this, the WCA wants there to be an optimal calendar that can result in an extra income of $ 246 million annually. It calls for setting up minimum and maximum distribution parameters of ICC income. As an example, there is a minimum of 2% and a maximum of 10% for the top 24 countries, and a minimum of 10% distribution collective for countries 25+.
It means that the BCCI share will lower from 38.5% to 10%. The WCA also wants a centralized Global Growth and Development Fund made up of a percentage of ICC events income, T20 competitions and polished mediaettes from CIC.
Leadership:
Although the WCA did not want to delve into the subject, it says it was forced to do this because the unanimous feedback was that the game suffered due to lack of leadership. In short, the report says, nobody is actually in charge of the sport as a real custodian of the worldwide game as a whole. The report says that cricket is run by the most powerful boards, without any representation of competitions, franchises, players or women and more importantly, there is no independent leadership. The WCA has called on a global game leader committee that will make its recommendations to the ICC board. This committee includes boards, T20 competitions/franchises, players and independent.
Regulation: International cricket over T20 outdated
The report says that the worldwide regulations of crickets must reflect the new transnational reality to protect the game and people in it. It says that the current frameworks under the supervision of the ICC do not fit into the goal, because it is primary importance for international cricket over T20 competitions. WCA calls it an outdated concept and criticizes the way in which the ICC supervises the sanction of T20 competitions, the limit for overseas players in a competition.
What is the reaction?
The WCA has already had conversations with the International Cricket Council. The report has already been presented to the ICC Cricket Committee, which has not gone in a great way so far.

Quote hangers:
Cricket is changing rapidly, but the transition is currently largely unattended on the worldwide level. There is an urgent need for cricket to reset and modernize its global planning, regulations and leadership to keep up with the pace of change and to guarantee a more balanced future. Each cricket country is part of a global ecosystem, depending on other countries and their players for their own success. WCA CEO Tom Moffat.
We have to step into our future as a sport, but there are some important parts of our history, and in particular international cricket, which we protected and bloom in the future. Pat Cummins, Australia Captain.
