My friend Michael Burns, who died 87 years old, leaves behind an important legacy as a cricket historian, both as a filmmaker and author. Cricket was central to his life, whether it played for many years for Malden Wanderers or coaching Surrey Youth Teams or being a often skeptical MCC member and he had a deep understanding of the game, usually but not always exceeding.
