Itia Sanctions German tennis player for associating with a suspended person
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has handed over a three-month suspension to the German tennis player Mina Hodzic for a forbidden association infringing the tennis anti-corruption program (TACP).
Hodzic, 22, was punished after participating in a practice session with former tennis player Jordi Marse-Vidri during an event in Barcelona in October 2024.
Marse-Vidri currently serves a 15-year suspension from the sport after he was found guilty of resolving a match-fixing violations in 2022.
The Spaniard, who had a career-high association of tennis professionals (ATP) from 526e, was one of the six players convicted of criminal persecution with regard to Match-Fixing alongside Marc Fornell Mestres, Carlos Ortega, Jaime Ortega, Pedroeboo.
At the time, the ITIA described the incident as one of the most important infiltrations of tennis by organized crime that we have seen.
In addition to the suspension and a fine of $ 15,000 (11,600), Marse-Vidri was given a two-year prison sentence.

The ITIA had previously warned Hodzic about receiving coaching from Marse-Vidri prior to her sanction.

Hodzics suspension is in force from 6 March and runs until 5 June 2025.
