Charlotte, NC – UNC Asheville Heren Tennis wiped the Big South Conference Weekly Awards for the last week of the regular season, announced by the conference today (Tuesday 15 April). Tarek Erlewein the player of the week was declared for the second consecutive week, while I have Gande Ball Earned first -year student of the week.
Asheville went 1-1 last week and fell to UNC Greensboro on Tuesday (April 8) with 5-2 before he defeated Longwood 5-2 on Sunday (April 13) to secure the number 2 seeds in the upcoming Big South Conference Championships.
Against UNCG, the double match of Erlewein did not remain completed, but he did have a lead before he won 6-3, 6-2 at number 1 singles. He collaborated with Longwood Olle Sonesson Lidholt For a 6-1 victory over number 2 Doubles before he wins number 2 Singles 6-2, 6-0.
This is Erlewein's second career player of the week honor. The resident of Stuhr, Germany is a double major in business and economy.
Against Longwood, Gandepalli took a 6-4 victory over No. 3 Doubles with Gripin Lovage Before won 6-0, 6-3 at no. 4 singles.
