A highly ranked British tennis player has apologized in favor of saying an opponent “smells really bad” and asked that she was set up Deodorant.

Harriet Dart said in an Instagram story that she “really regretted” her comments about Lois Boisson, to whom she lost 6-0, 6-3 in the first round of the Clay-Court Rouen Open on Tuesday.

The French player quickly hit back with a tongue-in-cheek response and placed an Instagram photo of her on the field … with deodorant superpounded in the shot.

The British No. 4 had made the comments during a switch in the second set, with Boisson apparently out of hearing distance in the back of the field.

In images, Dart can be heard that the referee says: “Can you tell her that she should wear deodorant? Because she really smells bad.”

The 28-year-old apologized for her comments and said: “It was a remark of the heat of the moment I really regret”.

She added: “That is not how I want to wear myself, and I take full responsibility.

“I have a lot of respect for Lois and how she participated today. I will learn and move forward.”
