Womens Tennis Players earn All-WCC Academic Awards
San Bruno, California Portland Portland Women's Tennis Seniors Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Sally Pethybridge were appointed until the 2025 WCC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, the competition office announced on Wednesday. It marks the third consecutive year that Pethybridge and DimitRijevic were appointed as the academic first team of 12 players.
In order to be eligible for WCC All-Academic Team Self-part, student athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also making an important contribution to their team and in at least their second year at their school.
Pethybridge is a biology -Major with a 3.93 cumulative grade point average that anchored the top of the Portland line -up this season. An All-WCC second team selection in both singles and Doubles, Pethybridge ended with six double singles victories, including a 4-3 mark against WCC opposition on the number 1 position. She worked together in Doubles with Alaia Rubio Perez Rubio and went 17-7 in general, 11-3 in double matches and 4-1 against WCC competition.
Dimitrijevic has an average of 3.93 cumulative grade point, while the main subject is in finance. The resident of Houston, Texas, grabbed seven double singles, including three against WCC opponents. She also played number 2 Doubles and ended with six double Doubles victories.
In addition to Pethybridge and DimitRijevic, Alaia Rubio Perez collected honorable mention all-academic recognition.
Portland will now concentrate on this weekWCC championshipsPlanned for 24-26 April in the Aztec Tennis Center in San Diego, California. The pilots are the number 6 seed and record the no. 54 Washington State on Thursday at 10 am to undergo the winner to San Diego in Friday's semi -final.
