Nau is preparing for Idaho in the semi -final of the Big Sky Tennis Championships
Phoenix, Ariz. (April 24, 2025) The NAU tennis team for men is preparing to play in the Big Sky Tennis Championships. The lumbar jackets play in their first game on Friday, April 25.
Nau came in the tournament as one seed and took a first round bye, all this thanks to an unbeaten 8-0 record in the conference. They will take the Idaho Vandals in the second round. The vandals defeated the Weber State Wildcats 4-2 in the first round.

In this competition, Torres had a dominant performance when he defeated Vandal Senior Francisco Gay, 6-3, 6-1.
The Vandals came to the Conference in the Big Sky tournament with a 5-3 record. Their three conference losses came against the Montana Grizzlies, Nau and the Idaho State Bengals.
Torres and Lange both ride six competition gains in Singles and go against the Bengal. Torres has a record of 15-4 in general in singles and is 6-1 when it comes to conference matchups. Lange is undefeated in conference game with a 4-0 record. He is one of the four lumberjacks who are unbeaten in Big Sky matchups with the other three are Agynskyy, Volesky and Jakub Prachar.
Nau as a general team is in a winning streak of five games and was unbeaten in conference game. The lumberjack always has a losing record against the vandals, but has won the last two matchups. The last time these two teams met in the Big Sky tournament, Idaho got better from Nau and won in a narrow competition, 4-3.
Last season the Houthakkers made the final but lost to the state of Sacramento. This season, Nau wants to go one step further and get their first NCAA tournament berth since 2021.
All matches on the Big Sky Tennis Championships start at 8 o'clock and are played in the Phoenix Tennis Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
