Pakistan moves his T20 Cricket Tournament to Dubai because of worries about India conflict
Islamabad Het Pakistan Cricket Board has moved the remaining eight games of his Pakistan Super League Twenty20 competition to the United Arab Emirates after rising military tensions between India and Pakistan.
The PCB confirmed the move to Dubai in a statement that was released at the beginning of Friday, stating growing concern for overseas players and the need to prioritize their safety. Once the logistics regulations are completed, the final schedule, including revised dates and locations, will be announced.
Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore would host the remaining games.
“The PCB has always been in the position that politics and sport should be kept apart,” said PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also Minister of the Interior in the Pakistani government, in a statement.
On Thursday, an Indian drone fell in the complex of the Cricket Stadium -hours before the start of the PSL game in which various foreign cricketers from New -Zeeland, Australia, West -India, South Africa and England would compete.
“The printed circuit board has decided to move the remaining competitions (from PSL) to the VAE, so that both domestic and foreign cricketers that are our dear guests can be saved,” said Naqvi.
The PSL started in his 10th edition in 2016 in the United Arab Emirates. VAE organized the first two editions of the PSL, apart from the final in 2017, and also some of the matches in 2021 during the COVID-19 Pandemie.
