Canada adds Blues' Binnington, Schenn to the world championship schedule
One of the 4 Nations face-off stars of Canada will put on the maple leaf.
St. Louis Blues -goalkeeper Jordan Binnington was added to the Canadian schedule for the World Championship together with teammate Brayden Schenn, announced Hockey Canada.
Binnington, 31, played all four games for Canada in the 4 countries of February and placed a .907 savings percentage and 2.38 goals-to-average.
His game was particularly noticeable during the extension of the final against the US, when he stopped several chances before Connor McDavid poured the game winner.
The blues were eliminated from the Stanley Cup -Play -offs in Game 7 of the first round against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, making Bininington and Schenn to Europe for the annual tournament.
Schenn appeared this season in all 82 games in the regular season with the blues and recorded 50 points in his second season as a captain (18 goals, 32 assists).
