9 fantasy football goals to pick up for week 10

Fantasy football managers are starting the long runs of their regular seasons. That means they are more desperate than ever for wins that will help them qualify for the fantasy postseason.

That won't necessarily be easy in week 10. Some of the league's most powerful offenses include the Cincinnati BengalsDallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs will part ways. The Tennessee titans will also disappear, reducing the number of available flex options.

As such, fantasy managers heading into the playoffs will be looking for players with immediate impact on the waiver wire. Fortunately, there appear to be plenty of options to target on the waiver wire, including a few running backs who deserve solid roles between the tackles and a few tight ends who could be potential injury replacements. Here's a look at the top players to target on waivers ahead of Week 10.

RB Terrell JenningsNew England Patriots (listed in 1% of Yahoo leagues)

The Patriots gave TreVeyon Henderson an expanded role with Rhamundre Stevenson (toe) out of the lineup, but Jennings was still fully involved as a runner between the tackles. Henderson outscored him 18-12, but Jennings got a few carries in the red zone and managed to muscle his way into the end zone for a score.

If Stevenson doesn't hold out, Jennings could continue to get a fair share of the Patriots' goal-line opportunities, as the 6-0, 217-pound back is built bigger than the 5-10, 202-pound Henderson. That would make the Florida A&M product a decent, TD-dependent flex option for fantasy purposes.

RB Devin SingletairNew York Giants (listed in 5% of Yahoo leagues)

Many believed Tyrone Tracy Jr. would the Giants'workhorse' Cam Tax House from the setup. Instead, he split the workload relatively evenly with Singletary, who saw eight carries compared to Tracy's five.

That said, Singletary averaged 5.4 yards per carry against the 49ers, compared to 3.6 for Tracy. If Singletary continues to outperform Tracy, he could emerge as the Giants' top defender, which would make him a solid flex for low-end RB2 play every week.

WR DeMario “Pop” DouglasNew England Patriots (listed in 4% of Yahoo leagues)

Kayshon Boutte left the Patriots' 24-23 victory over the Falcons due to a hamstring injury. This saw Douglas see more opportunity as a down-the-field receiver, and he turned a team-high six targets into four catches for 100 yards and a touchdown.

If Boutte remains absent in the longer term, Douglas could become a consistent and reliable target Drake Maye. The second-year quarterback has been one of the NFL's best downfield passers this season, so adding his top potential receivers is a strong, positive move.

THE Colston LovelandChicago Bears (listed in 23% of Yahoo leagues)

Loveland had its breakout match in the Bears'47-42 win over the Bengals. The rookie first-round pick led the team in receiving yards (118) and touchdowns (2) while tying Olamide Zacheaus for the team leader in catches (6).

The caveat to Loveland's breakout is that the Bengals have been the NFL's worst defense against tight ends this season. Still, the contact balance Loveland showed through tackles on his game-winning 57-yard touchdown should raise hopes that he can continue to improve as his rookie season progresses.

Add that Cole Farmer suffered a concussion in the win and his status for Week 10 will be questionable and Loveland could emerge as a solid streaming tight end in the short term.

THE Dalton SchultzHouston Texans (listed in 27% of Yahoo leagues)

Schultz could emerge as the ideal fantasy replacement for Tucker Kraft. The Texans tight end led the team with six catches and 77 yards against a tough Broncos defense and averaged 64.75 receiving yards per game over his last four appearances.

Schultz's production encompasses both C.J. Stroud And Davis Mills at quarterback. So if Stroud can't play in Week 10 after suffering a concussion, Schultz should still have a chance at a quality outing against the Jacksonville Jaguars. That makes him worth targeting as a high-floor replacement.

QB Joe FlaccoCincinnati Bengals (listed in 52% of Yahoo leagues)

In four games since joining the Bengals, Flacco has averaged 313.5 passing yards per game with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. He's also averaging 43.25 passing attempts per game and numbers to continue hitting that kind of volume as the Bengals often play from behind thanks to their hyperporous defense.

That's enough to make Flacco a weekly contender to be a top-10 fantasy quarterback. He should be included in more than half of Yahoo's leagues, and could establish himself as a must-start if he continues to see this kind of passing volume.

RB Isaiah DavisNew York Jets (listed in 12% of Yahoo leagues)

Is Breece Hall probably traded? Maybe not, but it can't be ruled out if the Jets get a “Godfather” offer for the future free agent. If that happens, nothing could separate Davis from a workhorse role Braelon Allen (knee) still out of action.

The Jets had a bye in Week 9, but Davis had 109 yards on 12 touches against the Bengals. Cincinnati is very weak against running backs, but Davis' performance should inspire confidence in him as a potential PPR flex.

WR ParkerWashingtonJacksonville Jaguars (listed in 18% of Yahoo leagues)

Travis Hunter was placed on IR after suffering a non-contact knee injury during practice. That opened the door for Washington to operate as Jacksonville's second receiver on the opposite sideline Brian Thomas Jr.

Washington ultimately led the team in targets (9), receptions (8) and receiving yards (90), while showing good chemistry with Trevor Lawrence. He's worth saving, especially considering Thomas Jr. has run into trouble at various points throughout the season.

WR Calvin Austin IIIPittsburgh Steelers (listed in 11% of Yahoo leagues)

The Steelers could trade for another receiver before the 2025 NFL trade deadline. If not, Austin is likely their No. 2 receiver after leading the team with five catches and 56 yards in Week 9 against the Colts.

Austin has scored six goals in consecutive games and is healthy after suffering a shoulder injury early in the season. He has good speed and could be a big candidate from the flex spot in the future.
