Ainsdales Alex Rigby is hosting simulated games featuring club members, past and present, in a fundraising tournament.
Using a Nintendo Switch and a copy of Big Ant Studios Cricket 19, the self-proclaimed casual gamer casually constructed a replica of the clubs on Liverpool Road (which he named Cyril Fazakerley Stadium, in honor of the recently deceased club president) and characters based on the game team.
They will face off in a confrontation of more than 50 years, broadcast live on Facebook tomorrow afternoon.
And while it’s all in fundraising – members will rack up 5 to guess the best race scorer, wicket taker, etc., with half the proceeds going to the club – Rigby estimates that virtual gaming will also help fill the gap the difference in cricket size among life members.
